What is Air Duct Cleaning?

Air duct cleaning by The Environmental Doctor® is the process of cleaning your heating, venting, and air conditioning system vents with our professional, detailed, duct cleaning procedure to reduce your family's exposure to Dust, Dust Mites, Mold and Bacteria.

Is It Only for Older Homes?

No.  Many older homes have never had their ductwork or air conditioning coil cleaned, but new or remodeled homes can have drywall dust and construction debris in the ductwork as well.

Both situations can produce poor indoor air quality that may be hazardous to your health.

We Use Powerful Equipment

POWER is everything when it comes to cleaning the ducts in your home. We use a combination of a truck mounted system with a portable HEPA vacuum unit.

The 300 HP truck with a direct vacuum drive from a diesel engine produces 12,000 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) of suction power, about ten times the velocity of the air your central heating system produces.

This system alone will not remove all the contamination from the inside of your duct work or furnace. We also use air pressure 'whips' to break loose the dirt and debris that has become adhered to your duct work so that it can be 'sucked out' by the truck vacuum.

With extreme mold or algae problems, or if something is stuck in the ductwork, we use a rotary brush on a cable that can be pulled through to remove most any debris.

We also can use a sanitizing foam to scrub lines, or a sanitizing fogger for use in the ducts if needed.
